Installing Aptana Studio on PowerPC

Currently, running Aptana Studio 1.5.0 will crash due to Firefox preview on PowerPC based Macs. To work around this issue, we have attached an zipped applescript. Running the script modifies the user's workspace by inserting a preference setting to disable the Firefox previews in Aptana editors.

Script Instructions

  1. Install Aptana Studio (standalone or as a plug-in into Eclipse) on a PowerPC based mac.
  2. Run Aptana Studio once (this will make sure a workspace is already created).
  3. Unzip the following zip: Aptana Studio PPC Fix Script
  4. Run the unzipped script and follow the prompts.
  5. Rerun Aptana Studio. It should launch now.
